Atlas started in 1976 delivering out of a self-storage warehouse and only selling a handful of items. Today we have grown to a 3-acre complex and stock more than 5,000 items.

From its humble beginnings and still today, Atlas is a family-owned and operated business. Atlas opened its first store in San Antonio in 1979, then expanded its headquarters to Houston in 1983. As we continued to grow, we purchased and moved into our current location in 1988. Up until 1988 we were a wholesale-only distributor and with the expansion to the new building we decided to open up our first retail store. We have been thankful for the chance to serve the retail consumers since then. That has not stopped us from continuing to serve as a wholesale distributor for OEM, contractors, other retailers, etc. We currently cover, with weekly deliveries, the East, Central, and South Texas regions.
